Project Manager

A thriving Midlands county with ambitious growth plans requires an enthusiastic Project Manager to lead key specialist areas of planning policy work

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage the development of a key and specialist area of planning policy work, particularly in order that an up-to-date strategic land-use planning and minerals and waste policy framework for the county is maintained. These specialist areas will involve one or more of the following activities:

Preparation and strategic implementation of the Regional Spatial Strategy and Sub-Regional Spatial Strategy.

Preparation and production of the Minerals and Waste Development Framework.

Contributing to the delivery of the area's growth agenda.

Supporting the preparation and production of Local Development Frameworks in Northamptonshire.

Contributing to the production of other plans and strategies as appropriate.

Dealing with major development proposals.

To identify and develop appropriate mechanisms and programmes for public consultation and participation in delivering strategic land-use policy and implementing initiatives to ensure that all key stakeholders have an input to the plan-making process.

To represent and negotiate for the County Council and/or Regional Planning Body as appropriate in local, regional and national for a in support of relevant goals and objectives.

To contribute to service planning, business management and staff development in the Planning Policy section and wider Growth Management service area.
